COASTLANDS Church began in 1953 as Montello Baptist Church - initially as a Sunday School which began in the shed of Richard (Dick) and Ruth Goninon.

The first 50 years have seen many ups and downs - a short history describing some of these events was published recently in the Advance magazine of the Baptist Union of Tasmania. Copies of this can be obtained from the church office.

Currently there are approximately 50 - 70 regular attenders, comprising people of all ages from newly born to 90 year olds and above. We see ourselves as a community - a family - who welcome all into our midst. Hopefully others see us this way as well!

Our worship style - is informal, relaxed and low-key "charismatic". Participation by a large number of people in leadership is encouraged.
